A stone cottage in the Peak District with green hills behind

Castleton, Peak District

A calm stone house
in the heart of Castleton

A five room bed and breakfast in an 1840 stone house. Warm rooms, a big local breakfast, and the hills from the door.

Welcome to Sage House

A quiet place to slow down

Helen and Peter run five rooms in an old stone house on How Lane. Come for the walking, the caverns, or just a long breakfast and a rest.

A proper local breakfast

Everything local, and Peter bakes the bread fresh each morning.

Five calm rooms

Warm stone, soft light, and a good night of sleep. Each room is different.

The hills at the door

Mam Tor, the caverns, and the village are all a short step away.

Our house

An 1840 stone house, made warm again

We bought Sage House in 2019 and renovated it ourselves, room by room. The old stone stayed. Everything else we made soft, warm, and easy to settle into.

It is our home as well as yours, so we look after it the way we would want to be looked after.
